'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Ethan Galbraith resumes clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he reminisces about the dramatic final moments of Swansea's epic comeback victory against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The encounter culminated with Galbraith temporarily wearing a supporter's spectacles after the on-field celebration.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a long-range strike from distance, and his teammate promptly hammered in the deflection before sprinting toward the home end to mark the goal, with fans swarming the players.

Stunning Reversal

The victory sealed an extraordinary comeback given the team had been behind 2-0 midway through the final 45 minutes. In the celebrations, there was some collateral damage. The midfielder recalled, "There was a supporter trying to get our attention and Josh Key and I were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we saw the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're humans, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The victory secured a fourth-round match at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, a club Galbraith came close against at the same stage of the FA Cup with his former club in February. He had a prime vantage point when his former team took the lead in spectacular fashion, with the attacker's first-time shot from about 45 yards going in via the woodwork and the Stefan Ortega. It seems unfair that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've credited him for taking the effort on from that range," stated Galbraith, who played in the middle before moving to right flank after Orient changed formation. That meant facing off against Jack Grealish, with whom he swapped shirts, and the player was among the City players who complimented the way the underdogs attacked the game.

City's Quality

"Physically they are outstanding but even the fundamentals and routine actions, they can just perform consistently," he explains. "It feels like they always find their target and they understand how to control and neutralize a game. You can believe you're all right and then suddenly they will just fizz a pass through a line without you even spotting it. You have to be alert at all times of the game. It requires a resilient mindset and focus just to keep pace."

Welsh Transition

The club sought to acquire Galbraith in January and fought off rivals to bring him in in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He made a name as a popular figure across a couple of years at Leyton Orient and has quickly done the same in Wales. At Orient he linked up again with his former manager, who previously gave Galbraith his first extended run in professional games on loan at a League One side from Manchester United. Then came a spell at League Two the Manchester club, before he departed his boyhood club.

Growth Journey

"I was probably a somewhat inexperienced going into men's football. I think a lot of players would say development squad matches is completely distinct. Sometimes it appears the ball is moved without much intensity. There are limited hard challenges. Once you start playing men's games you have to adapt rapidly."

International Recognition

His progress reflects that maturation for his team and nation, shining for the Green and White Army, who are fighting to qualify for the international competition next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has been selected in the recent fixtures, including both legs encounters against Germany. His former international manager, Galbraith's ex- international manager, gave him the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he controls possession and his knack for a game-changing assist.

Starting Out

This marks a remarkable path for the kid from the neighborhood in Glengormley, just outside Belfast, who used to see his father, the elder Galbraith, also a central player, play for a local club.

Old Trafford Memory

Galbraith's single match for the Red Devils came in Central Asia in 2019, a Europa League trip to Astana, where they competed on an artificial pitch and the stadium roof was shut owing to the weather of bitter cold. "That proved to be a extended travel and it was cold out there," he says, smiling. "The days leading up, several youth players and I trained together, so that assisted our preparation. Just to join the main group and earn some playing time at the end was unbelievable."

Moving On

How difficult was it to depart Manchester United, the club he transferred from aged a teenager? "This turned out fairly simple, because I arrived at the moment where I understood I wasn't going to make it at the top level. I'm very appreciative for the experience gained but it reached a stage where I thought I required a fresh start, move to a lower level and play first-team games. Now I'm gradually working my way back up."

New Environment

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has an appointment at 5pm: a driving theory test, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Prior to relocating to the local area, the 24-year-old was a frequent passenger in Swansea's so-called fun bus, a minibus driven by club employees, the drivers, which shuttles players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"My companions include a teammate, the Brazilian, the midfielder – a former passenger used to be in it but has got his license. It's pleasant to interact with the teammates but I'm hoping to be the next one to drive independently and on the road. Franco likes to pull a few pranks; he's constantly causing mischief."

Supporter Connections

While playing for his former club, Galbraith would blend in with fans on London's Central line after commuting at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
